It’s a three-ring extravaganza for the entire clan this fall as the circus returns to New York.
Okay, it’s a single ring, but the thrills, chills and big time FUN are infinitely more accessible.
This is not just any circus; the world-famous Big Apple Circus–the one that offers incredible seats (no audience member sits more than 50 feet from the ring)—is back in the city that never sleeps for season number 31.
Beginning October 23rd you can see the world’s most famous clowns in action and witness other gravity-defying acts completed by performers from Russia, Italy, Belgium, China, Germany and Columbia under the big top at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park. The circus called “Play On” will then depart on a 10-city tour of the United States.
If you can’t score a ticket to the big show you might consider getting your hands on some other hot happenings in the Big Apple. Broadway’s best are catering to children this season. Take a look at these family-friendly options that will make your trip to New York one to remember:
Grease. This revival of the hit musical celebrating the 1950s, teens and personal relationships has gotten rave reviews by critics. The cast features stars chosen during the recent NBC television reality series. The infectious song and dance routines will have you swaying in your seat.
Mary Poppins. Broadway is getting a double dose of wit and charm as the world’s most famous nanny comes to the stage following her phenomenal success as the subject of a Disney movie.
The Lion King. This award-winning stage version of the Disney animated hit is still red hot this season. If you want your kids to experience the true magic of theater this is the show to see.
The Little Mermaid. Disney’s popular animated film about a sea-maiden who longs to live on land is making waves on Broadway. Tickets for this show are hard to come by, but any effort you put into nabbing some are worth the effort.
Young Frankenstein. Older kids will get a kick out of Mel Brooks’ lively attempt to transport the monster from screen to stage. There’s singing and dancing galore in this show, which is perfect to view during the Halloween season.
