Fall Fare Sale

After months of sky-high airfares, some carriers are finally offering a break to customers. Timing is key. After all, we are slowly moving from the busy summer season to the less hectic fall travel period, which is why airfare sales are popping up with more frequency.

If you have been holding off on flying because your budget simply can’t take the hit, you will be pleased to know that help is in sight. Right now a number of airlines have slashed fares to as low as $66 one-way. Even flights to Canada and Mexico are reasonably priced. But as always the deals are being offered for a limited time so it’s best to book early.

Fares under $75

AirTran Airways just announced a major fare sale. You can fly between dozens of US cities, including San Francisco, New York, Boston, and Miami for as low as $66 one-way, provided you book through Travelocity. This sale requires a 14-day advance purchase and expires on July 29, 2008. All travel must be complete by November 12, 2008.

Fares under $105

Right now Orbitz is offering an excellent Labor Day fare sale. Some sample round-trip fares include: Chicago–Indianapolis $102; Boston–Cancun $396; Detroit–Orlando $226; Seattle–Vancouver $253; and more. As an added bonus these fares are inclusive of all taxes and fees, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Fares under $200

Air Canada is currently offering reduced fares through the month of September. You can take off to cities like Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and more from $197 round trip. The catch: you must book by July 17, 2008 to take advantage of the discounted fares.

Fares under $350

If you have been dreaming of escaping to Mexico you are in luck. US Airways has just posted a blowout sale on fares to sunny Los Cabos from Sacramento for just $348 round trip. You can fly roundtrip from Las Vegas for just $356, or from Portland for just $366.
