Just because the temperatures are falling doesn’t mean you have to turn into a hermit. Couch potatoes, who like to bake in front of the television on chilly autumn days, don’t know what they are missing outside. The change in seasons has prompted a slew of exciting travel options, including:
THE VOODOO EXPERIENCE
If you love alternative music, then you’ll want to hit the road and head to New Orleans from October 30-November 1. That’s where you’ll find the Voodoo Experience music festival. For three days you can jam to the tunes of a diverse lineup that includes Eminem, Kiss, Jane’s Addiction and Widespread Panic. Also on the schedule of 150 acts are Jello Biafra, George Clinton, Lenny Kravitz, the Guantanamo School Of Medicine, and Parliament Funkadelic. In addition to the well-known alternative punk and rock groups, Voodoo also offers a host of Louisiana favorites, including Walter “Wolfman” Washington and Trombone Shorty.
By the way, this will be rapper Eminem’s first full performance in more four years, and it is his only scheduled concert for 2009. Also, KISS fans take note; your boys are slated to perform Halloween night, while Lenny Kravitz will close the festival on November 1st.
The Voodoo Experience will rock City Park, and when you are not eyeing a mosh pit you can tour the lush lagoons and oak trees and enjoy New Orleans food, arts and culture.
