The new fall TV season can’t come soon enough—especially for couch potatoes who are tired of sitting through endless summer reruns. (I’m on “Big Brother” overload myself.)
Hang in there TV fans, we’re just a few short weeks away from the new season and to get the excitement brewing I’ve got a rundown on some familiar faces making their way back to the small screen.
Take a look:
DREW LACHEY
The former 98 Degrees member turned “Dancing with the Stars” champ is reuniting with the judges who helped him earn that tacky mirrored disco-ball trophy.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, judges for ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” will be featured in a new six-week series airing later this season. The show is called “Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann” and the network just announced that Lachey will be hosting the talent contest.
According to show producers, contestants on the new show will work with Tonioli and Inaba to form “the ultimate dance team,” with viewers picking the winning group. (By the way, if you want to check out which celebs will be shimming and shaking on the new season of “Dancing with the Stars,” click here.)
VICTORIA BECKHAM
Her reality TV show bombed, but that apparently isn’t stopping Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) from taking another shot at the small screen. (After all, now that she is a resident of Tinseltown she can’t not go Hollywood, right?) To that end, none of us should be surprised to learn that the Spice Girl will be playing herself on an upcoming episode of ABC’s “Ugly Betty.”
According to show producers, Beckham will play a celebrity bridesmaid at the wedding of Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) and publisher Bradford Meade (Alan Dale).
You’ll recall there was much ballyhoo about the Beckham’s move from England to L.A. in July (her soccer-star husband, David, signed a five-year contract to play for the Galaxy of Major League Soccer). Since then Victoria has been busy working on a Spice Girls reunion and launching her own fashion label. I guess acting must just be her part time, part time gig.
For all you “Ugly Betty” fans, the comedy returns for its second season on September 27th.
