Family-Friendly Spring Break Destinations

Looking to infuse your child’s spring break with a ton of fun? Then, consider traveling to one the country’s most popular tourist attractions. Forbes Traveler just published a list of “Fantastic Family-Friendly Attractions” that are ideal for keeping your little ones entertained while on the road.

Some of the magazine’s top picks include:

Independence National Historic Park. The Philadelphia site is home to the Liberty Bell as well as the hall where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed. Bonus: Admission is free.

National Mall. Located in Washington, D.C., it is home to the Smithsonian Institute’s 19 free museums. Among the National Mall’s other no-cost attractions are the Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson Memorials, and the World War II and Korean War Veterans and Vietnam Veterans memorials.

Times Square. Rated as the city’s top tourist attraction, the hectic hub of Big Apple fun offers plenty of shops, bright lights and top-notch restaurants.

San Antonio River Walk. The self-proclaimed “#1 entertainment destination in Texas,” features numerous special events, such as a floating Mardi Gras Parade and a Mariachi Festival. What’s more, it doesn’t cost a dime to stroll along the popular waterway.

Waikiki Beach. Hawaii’s world-famous strip of sand draws millions of visitors each year. The beach is framed by iconic landmarks such as Diamond Head crater and the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and sees daytime temperatures in the lows 80s year-round.

Grand Canyon. The steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona is something you have to see in person to truly appreciate. “The Grand Canyon Skywalk” is the newest addition to the park. The glass bridge overlooking the canyon offers breathtaking views… at a steep price.

The Las Vegas Strip. Most parents wouldn’t dream of bringing their young kids to Sin City, but Forbes considers it one of the most family-friendly attractions in the country. In addition to the bevy of animal and magic shows offered at various Las Vegas hotels, other good, clean fun options include water parks and thrill rides.
