Family Fun for Less

Not everyone is pinching pennies during these tough economic times, and for those lucky families, taking advantage of incredible travel deals is a no-brainer.

A number of luxury resorts are slashing prices to entice families to visit their kid-friendly properties, which means if you have the means to scoop up these savings you are guaranteed a good time.

For example, the Somerset on Grace Bay, located along a sugar sand beach in Turks & Caicos, is offering incredible deals on their collection of spacious, ocean-front suites, villas, and cottages with full gourmet kitchens, surround-sound plasma TVs, and marble-floored bathrooms with mahogany carved cabinets.

Interestingly, the luxurious property was designed by a mother of five, who made sure to include kid-friendly amenities, such as free meals for children (kids 12 and under eat free off of the children’s menu), complimentary continental breakfasts, pools with zero-depth entries for toddlers and underwater piped-in music to keep teens entertained in the water.

Right now the resort is offering a four-night “Family Value-Added Special” and a “4th Night Free” promo. The package includes complimentary tea parties, dive-in movie nights, kids cookie-baking classes, snorkeling, plus three free hours of babysitting, which would otherwise run $40 for two children.

Not to be outdone, right now all five Almond Resorts in Barbados and St. Lucia are offering 50 percent discounts on rates for adults. Since kids under 18 always stay free at Almond Resorts (one child per paying adult), this deal translates into a half-price stay for a family of four. What’s more, the resorts are all-inclusive, which means lodging, meals, and most activities are bundled into a single price.

One of the most kid-friendly Almond properties is the Smugglers Cove, located in lovely St. Lucia. The resort is spread over 60 spectacular acres and features a gorgeous beach, five pools (one is kids-only and boasts a waterslide) and an expansive children’s program for newborns through teens.

Considering a three-night stay at Smugglers Cove for a family of four during the month of August normally runs about $3,200 you can save nearly $1600 by taking advantage of this deal. Plus, you can save even more if you travel in July, that’s when a family of four can pay as little as $1,052 for the same three-night stay.
