I’ve seen all kinds of websites, but I didn’t know there was a print magazine called Family Fun, until I saw it in my dentist’s waiting room yesterday. I had to smile despite the hideous pain from my toothache.
I decided to look it up today. They offer all kinds of ideas from parties, crafts, printables, games, and of course, you can subscribe to the magazine via the Family Fun website as well. One of the cute things I saw in the print version was a section with fun food ideas. Well, making it fun is the best way to get kids to eat, and I especially liked the “hot dog” idea.
Here’s the recipe:
I thought this was a very cool idea and it’s one that my six year old we’ll really like. This will make a good snack that will stay with kids a little longer instead of them returning for something else to munch in a few minutes. Good idea for after school!
You might also like the ideas found in our previous articles, “Edible Craft Projects,” for breakfast or lunch, and “Sculpt and Eat Crafts,” which are made using sugar cookie dough. You can use your favorite recipe or the one that’s included. Just mix, sculpt, bake, and decorate. Also, check out “Simple Cake Decorating Ideas” for parties or simply for fun dessert ideas.
There were lots of other cute ideas throughout the Family Fun magazine, and I recommend checking it out. I’ll have to see if I can pick up a copy so I can finish reading the volume I started yesterday. I’m not scheduled to return to the dentist until the end of the month, and I don’t want to wait that long. I’m having a good deal of work done, so I might just get to read several copies. Just kidding… this is one magazine that actually appears to be worth subscribing to and it’s for the entire family.
