Game: Spot It!

Made by: Blue Orange Games

Age Recommendation: 6 and up

Number of players: 2 to 8

Play time: 10 to 20 minutes

Game Description:

Put your visual perception skills to the test with Spot It, a fun, fast-paced, and simple card game that everyone ages 7 years and up can enjoy. In a group of two to eight players, you’ll draw cards and try to be the first to find the matching symbol but with one catch–only one matching symbol exists between any two cards. The first person to spot the matching symbol and call it out wins.

Game Play:

Playing this card game is easy. It is fast paced and challenges visual perception, mental processing, and matching skills. Randomly draw two cards and place them face up on the table so that everyone can see. Find the matching symbol between the two cards. The first player to call out the name of the matching symbol wins. The winning player then draws two new cards, places them on the table, and repeats the process.
The instructions include five ways to play.

Game for Education:

Spot It has a numbers and shapes version and a letter version. Both are just as much fun to play while helping children recognize basic shapes, numbers, and letters.

What We Thought:

I love a game that comes in a sturdy tin and is portable. I also love games that all ages can play since I have a family with children aged 14 to 4. The game is not intended for a four year old but she did pretty well and enjoyed herself. My seven year old said it was her favorite game and asks to play nonstop. She is dyslexic and I found the game helps her with processing speed. I have incorporated the numbers and shapes version and letters version into my homeschool. These are games we will be playing for a long time.
