Farrah Fawcett Takes Cancer Battle To Germany

Farrah Fawcett’s cancer may have returned, but she says don’t count her out yet. The former “Charlie’s Angels” star is not only traveling abroad to secure reinforcements in her battle against the deadly disease, she’s also videotaping the experience for a possible documentary.

Fawcett is currently in Germany receiving “alternative treatments” for her cancer. And according to Craig Nevius, the producer of Fawcett’s reality show “Chasing Farrah,” the 60-year-old actress has been responding well to the new treatment. Nevius declined to reveal the type of treatment Fawcett is receiving, but did say that the regime is not one that is currently offered in the United States.

He added, “She’s been documenting everything in a video diary” for “what could be a very important documentary.”

Spoken like a true Hollywood producer.

Plug aside, I doubt anyone could blame Fawcett for retreating to Germany given her circumstances. You’ll recall Fawcett was originally diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006. Then, in February 2007 after completing chemotherapy and radiation treatments Fawcett’s doctors declared her cancer free on her 60th birthday. Sadly, during her routine three-month check up, doctors found a malignant polyp and notified Fawcett that the cancer had returned.

Nevius says the Fawcett took the news especially hard since she was declared 100 percent cancer free only to be told three months later she was faced with the same situation. He says the fact that the disease returned so quickly after she had undergone such extensive treatment in the United States is what made the actress decide to seek alternative healing methods abroad.

It wasn’t until recently that the German magazine Bunte confirmed that Fawcett was in the country undergoing chemotherapy at the University Clinic in Frankfurt and supplementing the treatment with alternative medicines and practices in Bad Wiessee, in southern Germany.

Here’s hoping that Fawcett finds a means (whatever method it might be) to conquer the insidious disease.
