At this point he is probably better known for impregnating Ashlee Simpson and repeatedly denying doing so than he is for designing clothes, yet Pete Wentz is determined to make his new junior sportswear line at hit for Nordstrom.
Following in his fiancée’s footsteps the Fall Out Boy bassist has just signed an exclusive deal with the department store to launch a collection of graphic T-shirts, hoodies, denim jeans and accessories from his Clandestine Industries label.
According E! news, Wentz’s line contains “interesting cuts and designs that are a little bit out of the box.” Apropos considering the designer. The rocker says he has been a closet fashionista for years and even made clothes in his parents’ basement when he was a teen. No surprise there.
Another Wentz revelation that failed to shock me was the fact that the musician actually wears DKNY super skinny women’s jeans because he says they “look better” than men’s jeans.
Did I mention Wentz’s Nordstrom line is completely unisex and that he confessed to E! news that he and Ashlee share clothes?
Makes you wonder what their child is going to be dressed in.
Moving on to a celeb who in my opinion has real fashion sense…
Jordin Sparks may be known as American Idol’s youngest winner, but when it comes to putting her best face forward the teen has more experience than women twice her age.
Five years ago Sparks was making her mark in the fashion world as a sales rep for Avon’s teen line Mark and now thanks to her Idol win the singer with the flawless complexion has been named the first-ever spokesperson for the line’s sales representatives.
Basically, Sparks will share advice with the Mark sales team and appear in the brand’s catalogue, on its websites and in a national ad campaign. Sparks says the job will be a piece of cake for her given her experience as a Mark sales rep. (Her mother and grandmother also worked as Avon sales reps.)
Sparks new gig begins this summer that’s when she’ll team up with Lauren Conrad, who has been the face of Mark since last fall.
