VIRTUAL PAPER DOLLS
My 3-year-old daughter is just getting interested in paper dolls. We were at a friend’s house the other day and she found a container filled with magnetic paper dolls and their magnetic wardrobe. She spent about an hour mixing and matching outfits and shoes and I seriously considered running to the store to buy her a magnetic paper doll collection of her very own. (We later decided it would be something to add to her Santa list.)
If you have older daughters who are still interested in paper dolls you might want to check out a unique website I found for budding fashionistas. It’s called Stardoll.com and it allows visitors to help the likes of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen dress themselves. It’s basically a virtual paper doll site, which features a bevy of shrunken down celebrities waiting for someone with a keen eye for fashion to dress them up.
The Olsen twins have a wardrobe complete with metallic sequin dresses and Mary Kate’s signature fedora. You can dress Ashley in some super skinny pants and a plaid shirt. Other fun accessories include aviator sunglasses and big black bags. There are even a few red carpet outfits and a ton of outlandish hats and shoes.
PRETTY IN PINK
Tomorrow kicks off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to celebrate I am featuring a series of articles that spotlight ways you can help support the cause. I’ve already touched on some unique ways you can donate to cancer prevention causes and here’s yet another…
“Pretty in Pink” is a promotion good throughout the month of October that gives you the chance to save up to 90% on spa and salon services. All month long, spas and salons across the country will be offering $31 treatments to raise awareness and money for the Y-Me National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. Which means you can get a haircut, manicure, pedicure, an eyebrow wax, laser hair removal, and more for less than it would cost you to fill your tank with gas.
