Fashion Forward: Wedgie-Proof Underwear

Forget about Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Donna Karan, the hottest fashion designers on the block these days are 8-year-old twin boys.

If you tuned into “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last week you might be familiar with Justin and Jared Serovich’s fashion forward creation—-wedgie-proof underwear also known as the “Rip Away 1000.”

The boys rigged boxer shorts and fabric fasteners to hold together some seams—and voila—instant protection from underwear grabbing bullies.

“When the person tries to grab you and tries to give you a wedgie – they just rip away,” Justin explained to DeGeneres.

The third graders say they came up with the idea while giving each other the uncomfortable treatment and a family friend sarcastically said someone ought to invent wedgie-proof underwear.

The unique drawers may not be mass marketed, but it got the boys from Ohio a spot on national TV.

Not bad.

But, not as good as this next real fashion deal. Red-hot Hollywood accessory designer Holly Dunlap is taking her upscale footwear and handbag line to Target. The collection dubbed “Hollywould” is already a favorite of stars like actress Eva Longoria, but now it’s going to be available to the rest of us regular girls who don’t live on movie star budgets. The collection includes peep-toe pumps ($30) and satin clutches in rich, bold colors ($20).

And, just in time for Thanksgiving, several cosmetics companies are coming out with pumpkin-scented beauty products. Not only do they make you smell like you should be served for dessert but they also contain antioxidant-rich pumpkin extracts so they’re good for your skin too. Take your pick from Desert Essence Pumpkin Hand Repair Cream, $7 or slather your whole body in glycolic acid infused Arcona Pumpkin Body Lotion, $35. Philosophy is also offering a Pumpkin Pie ultra rich 3-in-1 shampoo, body wash, and bubble bath set for $16. Or, if you feel like splurging, then consider purchasing Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Peel for $44 at sephora.com.
