If I gave my dad a tie for Father’s Day I’m not sure he would know what to do with it. (He lives in Hawaii where wearing a tie is as natural as having 12 toes.) If ties, grills, or ceramic ashtrays are officially off limits as gift options this Father’s Day consider a gift dear ol’ dad wouldn’t think of returning or exchanging—a trip to an exotic locale… or a trip to see the grandkids (whatever floats his boat).
A couple of air carriers are offering some excellent travel deals just in time for Dad’s big day.
United Airlines is offering the following deals on flights that depart on Friday, June 15, 2007 or anytime on Saturday, June 16, 2007, and returning anytime on Monday, June 18, 2007 or Tuesday, June 19, 2007.
Here are some sample roundtrip fares:
· Milwaukee, Wisconsin to New York City for $210
· Boise, Idaho to San Francisco for $171
· Washington, D.C. to Toronto for $218
· White Plains, New York to Chicago for $209
· Dayton, Ohio to Chicago for $149
Air Jamaica is currently offering rock-bottom travel deals to Montego Bay so dad can relax on powder soft beaches surrounded by turquoise blue waters. Flights are going for as little as $127+ round-trip… with a few restrictions, including:
· Tickets must be purchased by June 27, 2007.
· A two-day minimum stay is required.
· A twenty-one day maximum stay is permitted.
Finally, if your dad is a music fan and enjoys spending time outdoors consider treating pops to a trip to the Berkshires. Tanglewood in Massachusetts is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the host of the annual music series, which features a variety of music genres from classical to contemporary and jazz. The festival kicks off on July 6th with a Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn piece—tickets start at $19. Right now the Chesapeake Inn, located just a stone’s throw from Tanglewood is offering a special to coincide with the music fest–25% off published rates. The three-bedroom inn includes a lap pool and free wireless connections. A two-night minimum stay (on the weekends) includes breakfast and a complimentary Saturday-evening barbecue.
