Product Synopsis:

A whole new world of flashcards, Slide, See & Say combines the best of flashcards and phonics into an interactive reading experience for kids! A unique flashcard slider reveals each word gradually so kids can sound it out letter by letter. Simple picture icons under each letter remind beginning readers of the sound each letter makes. Using this phonics method, children will learn to connect each letter to the sound it makes. Then, they can use those sounds to decode words. They can learn to read!

Beginning readers will learn to read 50 short vowel words by combining letters and sounds into simple three-letter words that use a consonant-vowel-consonant pattern. At home or on the go, children will build phonics skills and learn essential words – and they’ll be having fun as they learn to read!

Why I Recommend It:

Almost a decade ago I made my first Now I’m Reading! purchase. I purchased a set of beginning reader books for my first daughter. I fell in love with Pig Jigs, Hot Dog, and Fat Cat. My daughter loved putting the stickers in the back of the book to show off her reading skills. Over the years Now I’m Reading! continues to make reading fun for my other children. While, I still have that old set used to teach three of my children how to read I have updated my collection. Now I’m Reading! has gone beyond the books and added in a collection of hands on products to enhance the reading experience. One product of which I am particularly fond of is the Slide, See and Say Short Vowel Words.

The idea was simple and brilliant. Not your ordinary flashcards, as these are interactive. Your child will easily learn to combine letters to make words by sliding out the card revealing each letter to a word. It makes creating the word phonetically magical. My three year old is in love with these cards and my reluctant reader will use them on her own. I highly recommend these flashcards for all emerging readers.
