I really enjoy watching the show “How I Met Your Mother”. Unfortunately I usually find myself away from home Monday nights when it airs, and realize about the time it would be ending that I have forgotten to set my VCR. Understanding my plight CBS along with NBC and ABC have started to make episodes of their popular television programs available to watch on the Internet with a few clicks of a mouse.
Most of the programs are only available to watch for one week before they are replaced by the most recent episode, so you have to keep up with the shows so you don’t miss one. ABC started making shows like Lost and Alias available last season on the internet, but this is the first big season of internet ready shows for CBS and NBC viewers.
I personally think this is a fantastic idea. Since my discovery of internet television I have found myself spending my lunch break at work at my desk looking for new programming I would have never watched if I was required to watch it on TV. So far this season I’ve watched “Studio 60” on NBC, and “Six Degrees” on ABC shows that I otherwise would have never started watching but I really enjoy.
To watch most of the programs all you need is to have Flash installed on your computer and access to the internet. CBS requires Real Player to play their shows.
CBS has full episodes of The Class, CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, How I Met Your Mother, Jericho, NCIS, The New Adventures Of Old Christine, Numb3rs, Shark, Smith, Survivor, and The Unit.
NBC has full episodes of Studio 60, Kidnapped, and Heroes. they also offer 2 minute replays of the majority of their programming.
ABC:
ABC has full episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, Six Degrees, Desperate Housewives, The Nine, Lost, and Ugly Betty.
