There are a lot of coupons to be found in the New Times. I’ve been reading this free newspaper for years, and this is the first time I noticed the coupons. To get these coupons, you actually have to go pick up a copy of the newspaper, because they do not appear on the website.
New Times is a free newspaper that puts out a brand new edition every week, on Thursdays. It is a local newspaper for the county of San Luis Obispo, in California. Read articles about local news events that include both information and commentary. You can find out what bands are playing at local venues, and it has entire pages dedicated to what is going on at the art galleries and theaters in the area. There are movie reviews, amusing horoscopes, and other fun stuff to be found. Although I was aware of the many advertisements scattered throughout the pages of New Times, I didn’t know that it also contained coupons. The current edition, for the week starting August 12, 2010, and ending August 19, 2010, has fourteen coupons that are printed on the back of the first page of the newspaper.
Many coupons are for local restaurants. Get a Big Boy Combo, with fries, salad, and soda, for $6.99 from Bob’s Big Boy in Morro Bay. Round Table Pizza has a coupon for $6.00 off a large or extra large speciality pizza. Buy one sundae, from Fosters Freeze, and get another one of the same or smaller size for free. The Rock and Roll diner in Oceano has a coupon for a free milkshake, (which can only be used if you make a purchase of $10.00 or more). Get $2.00 off a Quizno’s sub when you purchase a fountain drink. If you are in Los Osos, there is a coupon for O’Steenis, Buy 1 “build your own” deli sandwich, and get a second one for half price. Stacked Sandwiches in Grover Beach has a coupon for a free fountain drink with the purchase of a six inch (or larger) sandwich. Lolo’s in Morro Bay is celebrating 25 years of business with a coupon that will give you 10% off of your entire order.
Get a free haircut with full highlights or full color from Hair by Kellie Lewis in SLO. Or, go to Salon Red in SLO, and get $10 off of all haircuts (men, women, and children included), from their latest hair designer, Michael. Bliss has a coupon for $10.00 off the price of a facial. These are just some of the coupons in the current New Times. Most of them expire August 25, 2010, or August 26, 2010.
