Finding “The One”

Finding that special person that you wish to spend the rest of your life with is not always an easy task. Some of us are lucky enough to find our mate when we were not even looking. Others, such as Courtney, found her mate in her dreams. However, some people spend years searching and wondering if the right person will ever come along.

When thinking about your ideal mate you must also think about yourself. We can easily get wrapped up in thinking of the world’s idealistic person rather than the one that best matches our personality and life.

Begin by analyzing your own interest and preferences. What type of lifestyle do you live? What type of personality do you have? What are your morals and values? What is important to you?

Then analyze what you want in your companion. What type of lifestyle do you want your companion to live? What should be important to your mate? What personality will best match yours?

You may realize that some things are important to you that you had never thought of before. Look at past relationships and gather any information that you think may have lead to the relationship’s failure. Try to stay clear of people with these characteristics.

While most couples do not have everything in common, it is important to have at least some similar likes and dislikes. Clubs and groups are a good place to begin meeting people with similar interests as you. If fitness and health are a priority to you, joining a health club may help you meet people with the same priority. If you enjoy dogs, striking up a conversation with other dog walkers in a pet park may be a good option. Meeting people at areas of interests to you will create a better chance of meeting someone with similar interests than just meeting someone off of the street.
