Finding The Perfect Mate

A little while back a 27 year old man from Tokyo married a Nintendo character. That’s right. This man said ‘I do’ to a video game creation. The character is called Nene Anegasaki, and is the star of a dating simulation game called Love Plus.

Now I know what a sad state our society is in.

According to the man, Nene is ‘better than a human girlfriend.’ He says she is ‘the perfect woman.’ And right there is the problem. He’s looking for the perfect woman.

Well good luck with that. Little wonder a human being isn’t good enough for him! Have you noticed none of us are perfect? And I’m not just talking about the women. No guys are perfect either. Thankfully. Can you imagine the strain of trying to live with someone who was perfect! No thanks.

He says he knows the difference between reality and fantasy and knows that it is just a game but his actions say something other than his words. Why else would he dress in a tux and go through a wedding ceremony to a computer creation? Did he just want his few minutes of fame on You Tube? Or is it a sign that some people spend so much time online with games and in the virtual world that they have lost the ability to communicate with real people?

Perhaps that explains a lot about why some people are unable to maintain a relationship, why I hear about couples who have trouble communicating, why I see and hear of couples neglecting the relationship they have in the search for something else, something supposedly better.

Maybe it’s time we all had a good hard look at our relationships with our spouse, our family, our friends and see what we can do to improve communication with them.

Christmas sounds like a great time to start rebuilding relationships.
