One of the ways that I’ve been able to find peace and true happiness is by learning to trust the Lord. There have been several times in my life when I’ve had to take that blind step forward and simply trust that the Lord is aware of me, and my situation. He has always pulled through for me, and things have worked out the way that they are supposed to.
My past experiences have given me the strength I need as I am faced with a new decision in which I need to trust the Lord. Since I am a big planner it can be extremely difficult when the way before me does not seem clear. But I have learned that things always work out; often better than I could have hoped for. It does take faith to take the next step forward. Sometimes when there is no clear yes or no, the Lord trusts us to make the right decision. He will warn us before we get too far off the correct course.
I have found that as I read my scriptures, and pray that it is easier for me to trust in the Lord. I have also found comfort as I write down my experiences, and then read over my journal entries, as I face new difficult situations. It helps to remind that the Lord is truly aware of my life. Reading my patriarchal blessings has also given me strength through the difficult times.
Life is not always easy. But I have learned that we never need to face it alone. Heavenly Father is there. He is real, and He loves each one of us. I know that as you turn to Him for guidance, truly seeking it will come. The Lord may not give you the things that you want, but He will give you the comfort and strength you need to get through your trials. He will help you take the next step, as you trust in Him.
