If you have been reading my posts for very long you know that cooking is not my strong suit. I know it is part of keeping a house but it is part that I’m not particularly fond of. I’m looking forward to the day when I can be like the Jetson’s and have dinner at the push of a button.
I found a cupcake dispensing ATM recently, I still don’t know how to get one in my house, but it’s on my bucket list.
Now, two other companies are working hard to make all my dreams come true. Red Tomato Pizza in India has a fridge magnet that lets you order pizza. That’s right, at the push of a button your favorite pizza will be delivered in thirty minutes or less. You go online, set up your menu and then when you want pizza, just lift the lid on the pizza box magnet and push the button. You can opt to have a text confirmation so you can cancel any orders the kids are making to feed the neighborhood. Too bad I’ll have to move to India for this.
If pizza is not your thing, enter Tacocopter. That’s right a copter that delivers tacos. Well, it would if there weren’t silly airspace laws about unmanned aerial vehicles being used for commercial purposes. Just thinking about all those little drones flying around delivering tacos lets me know that someone could really see into the future when the developed the Jetson’s.
This concept has existed in the Bay area since July of 2011. Customers could order and pay with their smart phones and then the copter would use their GPS to deliver to them. So as long as you stay there, tacos will come to you. Oh, they won’t be warm because they haven’t figured that part out yet. Just imagine, you are at your child’s softball game and want some tacos, and like manna from Heaven, they appear.
I may be living in a dream world, food appearing at the touch of a button, little flying saucers zipping around bringing me food. It’s ok, one day long ago people dream of being able to communicate with people on the other side of the planet at the touch of a button, and here we are.
