Actress Juliana Marguiles certainly made the most of the last day of the first month of the year.
According to news reports, the former “ER” star just gave birth to a baby boy. Marguiles’ lawyer husband Keith Lieberthal was reportedly by her side when their son was born.
PEOPLE Magazine is reporting that the newborn’s name is Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal and that he has already been visited by his maternal grandparents who claim their new grandson is “cuter than any other baby we’ve seen.”
The 41-year-old actress married her 35-year-old husband two months ago in Massachusetts. Kieran is the couple’s first child.
OSCAR PRODUCERS GIVE BIRTH TO PLAN B
In a previous blog I mentioned that Academy Award show producers were working on a contingency plan should striking Writers Guild of America directors deny an interim agreement that would allow writers to contribute to the annual ceremony.
Well, prepare yourself… it doesn’t appear as though the WGA is planning to be as generous to Oscar producers as they were with Grammy execs. As a result, academy president Sid Ganis announced today that producers are planning two Oscar shows.
Plan A is the traditional, star-studded, red carpet glam-fest, which will take place if an agreement is reached prior to the February 24th telecast.
Plan B (or the “second show” as producers are referring to it as) would include a ton of history, film clips, “and concepts that are not normally ones that we would have for the show if we were moving straight ahead,” Ganis told reporters.
Ganis then wryly noted that Plan A and Plan B should be referred to as: “The show we would love to do and … a show that we would prefer not to do.”
Jokes aside, Ganis made it very clear that the show will go on regardless of whether or not an agreement between the striking writers is reached.
