Foxworthy Pays for First Baby

Okay, so maybe my title is a little misleading. I was browsing CNN today (my online news source of choice) and I stumbled upon a headline that said something like Foxworthy Pays to Deliver. Now I only know of one Foxworthy, but this headline was under the CNN Money category and I wondered why comedian Jeff Foxworthy would be there.

After clicking on the link, I learned the headline was referring to Jeff Foxworthy. It seems that Jeff has a new comedy show coming up titled “Foxworthy’s Big Night Out” that will be premiering on the County Music Television (CMT) channel September 1st. The money part comes in because CMT will pay $50,000 to the first baby born on Labor Day during the premiere of the new show.

This is just one aspect of promotional advertising that has become so popular lately. We have all heard about the prizes the first baby of the New Year gets. People are paid to drive cars with advertisement plastered all over it. We have heard of parents selling their unborn child’s name rights on eBay. And now CMT is giving away $50,000 to help promote a television show.

If you are pregnant, the time to deliver is as close to 8::30 pm EST, 8:30 pm PST, 9:30 pm MST, or 7:30 pm CST as possible. In the event of a tie, there will be random drawing to determine the winner. And if you are not pregnant, but know someone who is, you can win $1,000 for identifying the first baby born during this time.

The hospital wins too –CMT will donate a 42-inch flat screen high definition television to them. If you are not ready to deliver on September 1, but sometime soon, don’t fret. If you deliver the first baby during any of the next eleven episodes of the show, you will win $5,000.

Anyone expecting around September 1?
