Freddie’s Back, Marie Lands a Talk Show, and Britney Sued

If you loved the Nightmare on Elm Street horror movies, you are in luck! New Line is talking to horror production company Platinum Dunes about reviving the movie franchise once again.

The Nightmare movies helped put New Line on the studio map in 1984. Made by Wes Craven, it spawned five sequels, television shows, and created a new horror king in Freddie Krueger, the child killing, burned face, razor gloved villain.

Of course, everything is on hold until the writer’s strike ends and a screenwriter can be found. The producers – Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form – say the new movie will focus in part on Freddie’s past.

Marie Osmond has been through a lot this year – the death of her father and passing out on “Dancing with the Stars” – but now she has something pleasant to look forward to – her own talk show. Her show, titled “Marie,” is set to debut in the fall of 2009 and will be produced by Program Partners. Of the show, Marie said, “I’ve been through a lot of things in life and have no problem talking about it. Women need a safe place where they can laugh, feel good, and relate to.” Marie and her brother Donny co-hosted the talk show “Donny and Marie” in 1998, which ran for two seasons.

Will the drama never end for Britney Spears? On top of everything else, a Las Vegas wardrobe consultant is now suing her. Nancy Rosu said she bought and shipping clothing to Britney and her sons in August 2007, but hasn’t been paid. She filed the complaint on January 17th, which seeks more than $500,000. Rosu’s attorney says that Nancy has tried to reach Britney for two months unsuccessfully.

However, Nancy has no ill feelings towards Britney, saying, “I know she’s got a lot of things going on in her life.” Britney’s reps didn’t have a comment about the lawsuit.
