FREE CVS/pharmacy Cough Drops

CVS cough drops On the very front page of the CVS December extra value book (which you can pick up in store) is a nice little deal for some free CVS brand cough drops. This is certainly the right season for that type of deal!

Each bag only costs $.99 to begin with, and you will receive $.99 in Extra Bucks right back when you purchase one. They are 30-count bags, assorted types, but Vitamin C drops are excluded. The ones pictured are: Strawberry, Cherry, and Sugar Free Menthol.

This deal is limit 5 for the whole month (12/1 through 12/31). If you purchase five bags all in one transaction, you will spend $4.95 out of pocket, and you will receive $4.95 in EB (Extra Bucks) immediately. Or, you can choose to purchase one bag for $.99, at which point you’ll receive an EB for $.99, which you can then use to purchase your second bag with an out of pocket expense totaling a whopping ZERO DOLLARS (earning yourself another $.99 EB with which you can continue the cycle).

Oh – and since these are a CVS brand item, don’t forget to use any CVS coupons that you might have like the $2 off a $10 CVS brand purchase. You’d need to buy enough other CVS brand products to get you over $10 (which I easily do with paper towels & toilet paper – you can never get enough of that!) If you have signed up for CVS emails, you might have received a coupon saying: “Print this coupon and bring it to any CVS/pharmacy store and Save $2.00 on any $10 CVS/pharmacy Brand Cough/Cold Remedy purchase with your ExtraCare card.” – you could certainly use that coupon if you’re buying $5.05 worth of another CVS brand cough/cold remedy along with your cough drops! You can get yourself stocked up for the entire winter season for under $4! Do you want to see how that would work?

You buy your five cough drop bags for $4.95, plus some other CVS brand cold remedy for at least $5.05. Your total comes to $10. Then, you hand them your $2/$10 coupon, bringing your total down to $8 plus tax. After you pay, you’ll be handed your receipt with your $4.95 Extra Bucks printed at the bottom, making your total expense just over $3. You can use that $4.95 EB to blow on whatever else you want (perhaps you’ll need some Kleenex for the winter months… and Kleenex would definitely be good to blow on! 😀 Pun intended!)

When it merged into Families.com, she became a moderator for the newly-created Deals section. During a re-organization, she specialized and became the moderator for the CVS forum. October 2006 was an amazing month for the CVS forum. Due to the busy-ness with all the awesome deals, her daughter waited 13 days past her due date to be born at the very end of the month! ;) Later, Nikki stepped down as moderator and is now stepping back up as a blogger.
