October brings plenty of Fall Festivals and Halloween celebrations. Many of them are things your family can attend for free, or for a low cost. Here are a few upcoming fun and frugal Fall activities that will be going on between now and October 14, 2012, (and a few that are going on all month long).
Stuckmeyer’s Farm located in Fenton, Missouri, is having Farm Fun Days every weekend in October. It happens every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening. Admission is free.
There will be hayrides, pony rides, an inflatable slide, live music, and more. They also offer a “U-Pick”, which means that you kids can get out into the field and pick their very own pumpkin.
Souplantation is celebrating National Pajama Month. Every Sunday morning during October, Kids eat free at Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes if they ware wearing their pajamas. (Shirt and shoes are required). This will take place from 9:00 in the morning until noon every Sunday in October. To get the freebie, an adult must purchase an adult meal. This is for kids who are 10 years old and younger.
A.C Moore is doing a “Make and Take” Halloween craft event for kids on October 8, 2012. It will take place from 1:00 in the afternoon through 3:00 in the afternoon. Kids will make a Nicole Crafts Tulle Ghost Pin. This event is free. On October 13, 2012, there will be another free “Make and Take” class for kids, also taking place from 1:00 in the afternoon until 3:00 in the afternoon. The craft this time is a Duck Tape Halloween Bookmark.
Lowe’s has a “Build And Grow” class for kids that will take place on October 13, 2012, at 10:00 in the morning. Kids can build their very own “Ghoul Bus”. You will need to register your child in order for him or her to attend the event. It is a free event. Kids will get to make their wooden project, and get a free apron, goggles, patch, and more.
The Seymour Land Trust is located in Seymour, Connecticut. It will hold the Halloween Haunted Trails Festival on October 13, 2012. (The rain date will be October 14, 2012). Admission is $6.00 per person. There will be more than ten haunted scenes staged along the winding trail through the woods.
Those waiting in line can watch Halloween themed movies on a large, outdoor screen. You can also sing along with “Scary-o-kee”. If you want to attend, please register at the Seymour Land Trust website. There will be “less scary” tours for children who have special needs taking place from 3:00 in the afternoon to 5:00 in the evening.
