Free Halloween Masks and Costumes

halloween costumes A couple of weeks ago, my family and I were in our local Target store. All of the Halloween costumes and things were already out on display, even though it was still September. No matter, I know that these things go quickly.

While my husband and the rest of the kids were looking at the trail mix, I chased after our youngest, who was excited by all of the different colorful costumes. He spotted one that “he waited his whole life for,” a rocket costume.

I admit that he certainly looked cute in it when he tried it on. I was sort of hoping that it wouldn’t fit, but it was pretty much perfect. Unfortunately, the price tag revealed the cost at almost $40, which is a bit steep for a costume, in my opinion.

Most of the time we buy the end-of-the-season clearance costumes, or if we can’t find any then we make our own. Fortunately, there are a lot of great resources out there that will help with different costume ideas, plans and templates for them and even printable masks. Here are a few of my favorite ones.
