When I was a kid, one of my brother’s favorite jokes was, “Want to know how to keep a nerd in suspense?” “I’ll tell you tomorrow.” Or, on a piece of paper, “Turn over to find out how to keep a nerd busy.” Of course, it had the same message on the other side. Not that your children are nerds (mine are), but Mike and Ike have a sure-fire way to occupy them.
In honor of their new tangy flavors, they’re giving away free candy. Yep, completely free, 500 bags per month. The catch is that you have to spin a slot-machine type of wheel and come up with three graphics of candy bags in a row. It took us more than four hundred tries to do it. When it finally hits, just enter your mailing address to receive your free candy. This is one to put the kids on. Mine had fun playing the game, especially since there was a prize at the end of it.
Mike and Ikes have been around forever. They’re a candy we grew up with, eating them at the movie theater along with Neccos and Good & Plenty. On Saturdays, growing up, my parents would leave us at the movies where we’d meet up with friends and catch the latest kids’ movie. That was, of course, in a different era. Those memories are fond, and buying the big boxes of candy was part of the experience.
To get your own bag, go to the Mike and Ike site, then click on Stock Up. That will take you to a new flash screen. Click Get Some Free Flavor in the lower right corner, and spin away! Judging from my luck on the site, I don’t think I’ll be going to Las Vegas any time soon.
