Summer is here and so are the blockbuster hits. Many companies are promoting the new hit movies through their products and packaging. They are making it very easy to take the family out for a night at the movies. Free movie tickets also make a cheap date night. Remember, these promotions are only good if your family will use the products you must purchase in order to receive the free tickets. Whether it’s Sex in the City, Indiana Jones, Prince Caspian, or Kung Fu Panda, it’s always more fun when it’s free.
Hershey’s Chocolate is giving away a free movie ticket when you collect 15 Mega Movie Bonus Points from specially marked packages of Hershey’s Chocolate, Twizzlers, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Check out CVS for sales on these packages. They have been running an ECB promotion off and on. Four free tickets are allowed per household. This promotion ends March 1, 2009.
Publix’s promotion, Race to the Movies, offers two movie tickets for purchasing ten qualified products. The coupon codes are found on the products such as Reese’s Peanut Butter Cereal, Cheerios, Hamburger Helper, and Betty Crocker cookie mixes. Shoppers enter coupon codes on the web site and print tickets immediately. I have used this offer and it worked very smoothly. Our theater allowed two adults and a child to use two vouchers to attend a matinee. I recommend entering all 10 codes at one time and printing tickets in the same web site visit. I had trouble logging back in after I left the web site initially. After several tries I was able to get back in. This promotion has been extended to October 31, 2008.
Redbook is sending out a free Fandango movie ticket while supplies last. To request the free movie ticket, all you have to do is send a 3×5 postcard with your name, age, address, and telephone number to: Redbook, 300 W. 57th Street, NY, NY 10019, Attn: Reel Rewards. This promotion ends June 30, 2008.
I will share several more movie deals with you in Part 2 of this series. Also, look out for Part 3 of the movie deals series where I will discuss where to see children’s summer movies for $1 or less, at the theaters.
Here’s your new Freebie: Since we are talking about movies, here’s a free Planet Heroes, Episode 2 DVD “Here Comes the Sun,” from Mattel. My kids loved the first one. So if you have kids, especially young boys, send away for this one.
If you try one of these deals or have a question, leave me a comment. I would love to hear which movie you saw. If you find a new movie deal, please post it in the Deals Forum, so everyone can save big!
