Free Samples of Traditional Medicinal Tea

Like a lot of bloggers here, I’m trying to lose weight. More importantly, I’m trying to make a healthier me. Part of that means going as natural as I can with food. I’ve cut out a lot of processed foods, fried foods, and unnecessary chemicals. And I’ve started to add a lot more tea. I actually like the taste of unsweetened green tea. It has to be made correctly, with the bag steeping for only 30 seconds, or it gets bitter. But there’s nothing quite so comforting as a hot cup of good quality tea on a chilly night.

The health benefits of tea are well-known and well-documented. Initially I bought the grocery store green tea, but we found the “certified organic” to have better flavor. (The grocery store stuff is still good, and still has the health benefits; it’s just a matter of choosing where your money goes.) Tea is such a subtle thing that it’s impossible to pinpoint what the green tea has done for me, except that I know that I am losing weight, and I do feel better overall.

Tea has been used for medicine for thousands of years. Chamomile tea is a relaxant, and good for those occasional bouts of insomnia. Peppermint tea helps with nausea and general digestion. The western world has been a little slower to embrace it for medicinal purposes, but when I was pregnant (back in the stone age), my doctor actually recommended raspberry tea early on. It was my fourth C-section and he said it would make the reproductive organs stronger.

I’m a little excited to see what bags Traditional Medicinal ships as a sample. (Obviously, it doesn’t take too much to get me excited!) You don’t get to choose, but they all look pretty good! Getting Cranberry Weightless Tea would be a bonus for me. I might just have to order it whether I get a sample or not. Has anyone tried it before?

If you use tea with success, I’d love for you to share.
