Although we are in the middle of winter here in Pennsylvania, I am thinking about a pretty spring garden. This year I am really looking forward to having lots of flowers and veggies, mostly because we will be moving to a new home with two acres–plenty of room for planting. Currently, we have a backyard the size of a postage stamp.
This first year, I’ll probably go very eclectic, trying out different seeds and plantings. Rather than spending a fortune, I started looking around for good gardening deals. Some of my favorite deals so far has been getting free seeds. I am enjoying opening the mail, finding the free seeds and dreaming of my garden.
Here are current links to free seeds. Some of these free seed offers ask for an SASE (self-addressed and stamped envelope). I don’t mind sending one in, personally, since most of the sources of free seeds are nonprofit organizations.
Now through the end of December, you can get a variety packet of three different Morning Glory seeds. Each packet contains 100 seeds. The variety includes Heavenly Blue, Crimson Rambler and Ipomoea Purpurea.
Wintersown wants you to try your hand at sowing your seeds while it is still winter. To that end, they are offering six packets of seeds. You will need to send them an SASE, and the variety of free seeds is up to them.
Want to attract butterflies to your garden? This not-for-profit organization is dedicated to providing nice habitats for butterflies. When you send in a SASE, they will send you milkweed seeds for your very own butterfly garden. There is a suggested donation, but no money is required.
This biblical ministry offers different varieties of free seeds throughout the year. Currently, they have poppies and shastas available. The packet you receive contains seeds for many colorful varieties of these flowers. An SASE is required.
