If you are a freelancer or you aspire to become one, then there is a big piece of news that you might be interested in. Freelancer.com has just acquired vWorker.com. Existing vWorker users will automatically be transferred over to Freelancer.com. and those who have been using both sites will have their vWorker accounts automatically merged with their Freelancer accounts.
The merging of the two freelance sites into one gives companies access to an even bigger pool of talented freelancers. Freelancers are able to bid on a huge variety of projects. There truly is something available for just about any freelance skill set you can imagine. Seriously. Of course you can find work in mainstream categories like copywriting, website design, and graphic design, but did you know that you can also find work in the areas of astrophysics, genetic engineering, or industrial design?
The acquisition of vWorker.com by Freelancer.com makes Freelancer.com the world’s largest global freelance marketplace. If you are thinking of giving freelance work a try, why not join the site and see whether there are any projects that you would like to bid on. One of the best things about freelance work is that you can use it for many purposes – taking on a project or two when you have time to earn a little extra income without going out and getting a second job, testing the waters for a career change, starting out part time while building a reputation and then transitioning to working from home full time as a freelancer, just to name a few. There are both short term and long term assignments available.
Please note that I have not yet used Freelancer.com to obtain any work, nor have they given me anything in exchange for mentioning them here. As with any freelance venture, bidding on jobs on Freelancer.com does contain some inherent risk, so please make sure that you read and understand the rules of the site before bidding.
