There are so many items that can make freezer cooking easier, if you have them on hand. Sometimes when we set out to do a freezer cooking session, we don’t necessarily think about these items. Here is another great list of items that are really handy on that long day of cooking!
Coffee Maker – This can come in handy for several purposes. You can keep yourself energized and wake yourself up, by having a few cups. But aside from the obvious, you can use it to quickly heat water or make coffee for recipes that might call for it.
Crock Pot – Used much the same way it would in regular cooking, if you have a roast, whole chicken or other item that needs to be cooked before placing it into a recipe, you can place it in the crock pot the night before. The item will be fully cooked by the next morning. If you have more than one crock pot (we have three – two were gifts and one was purchased on sale), you can do this with multiple items to make preparing recipes, fast and easy the next morning. A crock pot can cut down cooking time by a lot!
Electric Hand Mixer – You can mix by hand all you want, but I reserve the right to use my electric mixer. Using an electric mixer, is by far, much faster. You can use it for many different stirring purposes, including setting it on low to mix gravies, sauces and other items.
Electric Can Opener – Again, not a necessity, but practical. It makes opening cans so much easier. If you don’t own one, watch garage sales and sale ads for one. Or ask a family member if they have an extra one.
Microwave – Still not a necessity, but it can make heating items much faster. You can even have something fully cooked in the microwave.
Toaster Oven – This can be the same theory as the microwave or oven. You can cook smaller items in a toaster oven the same way that you would cook in your regular oven.
Food Processor and/or Blender – Both make mixing easy. You can use these for multiple cooking needs the day of your session.
