How to make new friends that have the same goals you do
So you find that most of your old friends are not the supportive type and that you need to get a support system if you are ever going to be able to stick to you goals. Now you feel lost and are scared that you are not going to be able to do it without support. It is time to find yourself some more support. There are plenty of places out there that support can be found. The first place is to join a gym. There you will meet people who have the same interest in getting healthy and most are looking for a little weight loss. There are also the Overeaters Anonymous meetings that are held all over the nation and into other countries. Weight watchers and other programs also offer support to those that are losing weight. These places not only have counselors but you will meet like minded individuals that can become your support group. You will find new friends and have new adventures with these people.
There is also something that was touched on before, the individual counselor or psychiatrist. These people are trained to offer support to you in your endeavors and there are some things that are easier to talk to a complete stranger to than to someone who you are friends with. There are plenty of help lines available out there today also. Check out chat rooms on the internet for support also.
Having a support network is invaluable when talking about something like trying to lose weight. This is because there are going to be times that you will want to cheat, that you will need someone to talk to about the issues that are unique to you. Without support, it is really hard to stick on the diet and to achieve your overall goal of losing weight. This does not just help someone who is trying to lose a significant amount of weight but also those who only need to lose 5-10 pounds.
