From Spring Break to Scrapbook

Five kids from my daughter’s second grade class are spending spring break with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.

Yup, they are jetting down to Orlando for the week and my daughter isn’t letting me forget it.

Her classmates will be joining tens of thousands of other families who plan to spend spring break in the house of mouse. I’m sure those moms and dads will be snapping plenty of pictures to show off to family and friends. While most of the images will likely make it on Facebook, I’m sure at least a few will find special spots in vacation scrapbooks.

Fortunately, there is no shortage of Disney-themed scrapbook supplies readily available in stores and online. In fact, A Cherry on Top sells an entire scrapbook kit dedicated to Cinderella and other princesses. It comes with princess rub-ons featuring Cinderella and friends dressed and posed. You also get glitter stickers, plus word and phrase rub-ons, such as: “A dream is a wish your heart makes when it’s fast asleep,” “Happily ever after,” and “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!”

If you are traveling with anti-princess peeps, then consider using a different technique to spice up your spring break Disney scrapbook. For example, you could have each member of your clan create a Top 10 list featuring his or her favorite Disney memories. Another option is to create a master Top 10 list that features the family’s favorite rides, attractions, and restaurants.

Finally, don’t forget to put all those character photos to good use. With so many photo ops available at Disney World, you could potentially create an entire scrapbook that features just the pictures you’ve snapped of your kids snuggling up to Mickey and crew. If you didn’t go crazy capturing your kids with characters, craft just a few layouts that feature one character per page. For example, a Donald layout could include individual photos of your kids with the popular lisping duck, as well as his autograph and a couple of tail feathers.
