Do you need some small gifts for more than a few people in your life? Those little gifts can add up. Here are some ideas on how you can give nice gifts but keep them frugal.
Group gift card
A group gift card is a nice solution. Basically, everyone in the group contributes a little something, let us say $5, and all of the money is pooled into a gift card. This is an ideal gift for a teacher, bus driver, church leader or service worker. It is easy on the wallet for each contributor, and yet the receiver can get something nice.
Plant away
If you have a garden or house plants then you may already have some great gifts available at your disposal. Place a baby spider plant, an aloe plant, etc into a pretty mug with some soil. Add a bow and you are done. You can also divide up garden plants or grow some gifts through cuttings. Even if you don’t generally have a green thumb, a package of seeds that can be grown (with soil and a container), or a small plant can be inexpensive.
Stockpile basket
Gift baskets are always nice. If you need a slightly smaller gift, go with a pretty bag instead. Fill it with lots of nice things from your stockpile. Now is when all of that coupon cutting is paying off. From beauty products for a pampering basket to pancake mix for a breakfast basket, with a little creativity, you can come up with something great.
Board games
Your local discount or toy store has plenty of inexpensive board games that would make nice general gifts for almost anyone. You can pick something that is nostalgic for fun, something classic or something new and exciting. At a cost of $2 to $7, board games can be cheaper than you think.
