Bad breath is a problem that many people face. It can be caused by all types of things like eating strongly flavored foods, poor digestion, gum disease and all sorts of other things. But I am not here to tell you how it is caused, I am here to give you some really easy and inexpensive ways to control or completely eliminate bad breath.
- Chew up some raw or crystallized ginger. It will make your breath smell, oh so sweet. Careful, it’s a little strong, but totally worth it!
- Everyone knows that peppermint is the preferred breath mint and toothpaste flavor. Using real peppermint you can make your own cheap mouthwash, or breath freshener.
- Purchase mint candy or mint chewing gum, from discount chains. Suck on them whenever your breath needs a lift.
- Parsley doesn’t taste that great by itself, but it’s an inexpensive alternative to expensive breath fresheners. Chew up fresh, washed parsley. The chlorophyll that is found in parsley is used in many commercially made products.
- Hydrogen Peroxide is cheap and can be used as a mouth wash. Rinse your mouth out with the HP and then scrape or brush your tongue. You can repeat the Hydrogen Peroxide as a finishing rinse.
- Make a baking soda and water mouth rinse. Brush your teeth like regular. Then rinse your mouth well, gargling with the baking soda rinse.
- Tea tree oil is another excellent way to clean your mouth and tongue to remove odors. You can brush your teeth and tongue with it, or soak your dental floss in the oil and use it daily.
- Chew some mint leaves. Fresh mint leaves from the produce section will help. Carry some in a plastic baggie in your purse or diaper bag. Just pop a leaf or two in your mouth and chew. You can spit the leaves back out, you certainly do not need to eat them.
