One of this year’s fashion trends gives you even more opportunities to find free clothes. The boyfriend look that features “male inspired fashions” has come straight from the runway to stores near you. Of course, straight from the runway clothes equate to straight from the wallet, but at glance at this clothing trend and a trip through your husband, brothers, or boyfriends closet should net you enough pieces to keep you in style. If you don’t have a guy whose closet you can raid, then check out the thrift store for items from the mens department. Here are some things you should look for.

Mens blazers are the mainstay of the boyfriend look. To keep your feminine touch, don’t wear oversized blazers, try to find one that fits as closely as possible or top it with a fitted wig.

Dress shirt are big in the boyfriend style so raid your guys closet for shirts he doesn’t wear anymore. Don’t worry if the sleeves are too long, because you may want to remove those. This years look is sleeveless.

Wide leg trousers are very popular this season. To get this look take a pair of his old wide legged slacks and get the waist altered to fit you.

Plaid cotton shirts can be worn as-is over your pretty camisole tops with your favorite jeans and tennis shoes. Button it up and wear leggings and heels with a belt for a more dressed up look.

Look for tuxedo vests to add a little flash to your style. Add some blinged out broaches or attack it with a bedazzler to feminize the vest.

Keep warm in his old Cardigan Sweaters and don’t worry if it is a little too big, oversized is in this winter. Wear them with pretty tops or dresses underneath to show your feminine silhouette.

Crewneck T’s are also a great steal (from his closet, that is) this fall. Add a belt for a more fitted look.

Now that I have given you these tips, I feel like I should also issue a warning. Please do not take over or alter his favorite items for the sake of your wardrobe. Go for pieces he doesn’t wear and ask for permission before taking it.
