Do you feel the urge to craft but you don’t have the supplies? Do you want to make a nice gift for someone at the last minute instead of rushing out to the store? Try one of these fun household crafts. Chances are that you already have everything you need at home.
An Old Stool
To turn an old stool into something special, just get some leftover paint and some upholstery tacks. Paint the stool a fun color, such as robin’s egg blue and then push them or tap them in along the lines of the stool to create a unique piece of furniture. Furniture tacks are about $10 a pack, and you can get returned or sample paint for less than $3 in the clearance area of your local home improvement store.
Disinfecting Wipe Containers
Don’t we all have some of these laying around? If we have kids, especially boys who use our bathrooms then we do! It just a few minutes you can turn empty disinfecting wipe containers into fun banks. Rinse the container throughly and then remove the labels. Next make new labels. You can print them, or have the kids design their own. Some ideas: Fun Money, Vacation Money, Charity, [Child’s Name] Bank.
Dried Up Pens
There is nothing that you can do with dried up pens, are there? Oh yes there is! First, remove the empty or dried up ink cartridge from the pen. Next, put the cap on the bottom of the pen. Fill the pen with water and add a single rose or other thin-stemmed flower. Group a bunch of these in a pencil cup or holder to make a pretty decoration for an office desk. Skip the water and use fake flowers for a more permanent arrangement.
