Squid Dogs
Here is a very popular and simple way to make a meal fun! The combination of noodles and hot dogs is irresistible to preschoolers. A wonderful snack or meal to make with your child or if you are studying the letter “S” for squid.
Ingredients:
1 box of spaghetti
1 package of hot dogs
Directions:
Cut hot dogs into fourths.
Spear dry spaghetti through the hot dogs.
Boil this combination in until spaghetti is al dente.
Fruit and Cheese Kabobs
A simple crowd pleaser! Gather up favorites and make colorful pretty kabobs for a fun snack or with lunch. It is healthy and fun to eat.
Ingredients:
Fresh fruit according to your child’s taste
Cheese according to your child’s taste
Directions:
Simply spear fruit and cheese on a Kabob and serve. To make it more fun you can use a mini cookie cutter to make the cheese into shapes.
Quesadillas
Quesadillas are a yummy snack, lunch or dinner for your preschooler that contains protein and calcium for their health. You can tailor make it to your child’s tastes. The best part is you can add in veggies and your child will actually eat them surrounded by all the gooey cheese and delicious chicken or beef.
Ingredients
Flour tortillas (you can use whole wheat)
Shredded Colby Jack Cheese
Shredded or cubed chicken
Choice of veggies
Directions:
Place tortillas on a cutting board or surface. Then fill it with your ingredients and fold over the tortilla so the edges meet.
In a frying pan heat oil over medium heat. Add the quesadillas to the pan and fry them on each side until the cheese melts. About two minutes per side should be long enough to make the quesadillas.
Place the cooked quesadillas on a plate to cool. Once cool cut into wedges.
Serve with salsa or sour cream if you desire.
