Fun Winter Dates

The best part of winter is snow and the worst part of winter is snow. For those who live in snowy areas, the first few snowfalls are something to look forward to, but they also bring with them road hazards, school closings, snow shoveling and higher electrical bills. In the southern states, where snow is far more rare, the idea of snow is one filled with romance, fun and a reminder of what it was like to be a kid on school holiday.

So if you’re looking for a few fun things to do with a date this winter, dare to do something different or try something new. You can build a snowman and ‘paint’ it with spray bottles filled with water colored with food coloring. Take a date bobsledding or skating at the ice rink. If you have an opportunity, there’s nothing like a sleigh ride with real horses. Cuddle up with your date in the back and pull a warm blanket over your legs. If you can manage it during a snowfall that just makes it more magical.

Even in areas where the snow doesn’t fall, temperatures drop. Invite your date to join you in a polar bear swim. While a polar bear swim is frigid experience, imagine the laughter before, during and after. Not to mention the warming up after the experience.

Every area has different types of Christmas and holiday events or parades. Take part in them; revel in the spirit of the holidays. Inviting your date to share in some of those events whether they are as traditional is going out to chop down a Christmas tree, playing board games by the fire or hosting a carpet picnic, winter has all the accessories for inviting a closer, more intimate relationship.

Snuggling together, holding hands and even huddling in a car are greatly emphasized by the need to share body heat, blanket or just getting over being cold. Carnivals, festivals and parades offer plenty of outdoor fun and that’s not even getting to skiing, snow sledding, tobogganing, and snowboarding or just building snowmen. Make winter an adventure and put the fun back into your dates.
