Funny Things that Toddlers Do

funny toddler One of the wonderful things about having a toddler is that you are constantly entertained by their antics. Even before they can speak, they are communicating and showing their personalities. Get these little quirks on video or photo now, while you still can. You’ll regret it later if you don’t have them. Believe it or not, you may even forget!

Each of my three children had some seriously strange things that they did when they were toddlers that left us adults smiling or shaking our heads. For example, as soon as my little girl could get around, she would waddle over to the vacuum cleaner (it always was out to catch those lost Cherrios and to keep the floor clean for toddling) and pull out pieces of dust from the brush part of the wand. If I didn’t catch her in time, she would put the dust in her mouth. Ew. It is now a very funny story in our household, and we tell it often when she gets into a picky eating mood.

Toddlers are great imitators and will often copy mom, dad or other caregivers. My eldest son would grab the toilet brush and try to clean the toilet, all while singing. It was only then that I realized that I usually would sing or play music while I cleaned. It isn’t that I enjoyed cleaning, believe me, just a little quirk that my toddler picked up on.

My youngest son, the comedian of the family, once fell down on purpose and then told me to kiss his butt. Sometime you just try not to laugh at things like that because you don’t want to encourage bad behavior, but the laughter comes out anyway.

What funny things is your toddler doing or saying these days? Send me a message and let me know!
