Genealogy Gems released an episode on December 10, 2011. This episode is called “Taking Family History to Young and Old in the Community”.
They cover a lot of genealogy related news in this episode, including: new apps from Ancestry.com, new imagery on Google Earth, new podcasts from The National Archives, new Irish Records at FindMyPast.ie, and more. GeneaBloggers has an episode that was released on December 16, 2011. This episode is called “Do Books Still Matter in Genealogy?”
Special guests include Jim Ericson, (Senior Product Marketing Manager for FamilySearch), who talks about books and their role in the genealogy industry. Leland Meitzler, (of Family Roots Publishing Co.), is another special guest. He was recently one of several book vendors initially banned from the Roots Tech exhibit hall.
Another special guest is Curt B. Witcher (Genealogy Center Manager at the Allen County Public Library). He helps listeners understand the trends in the book and library industry. Biff and Nancy Barns (of Stories to Tell) are also special guests, and they talk about another vendor that was banned.
African Roots Podcast released episode number 141 on December 16, 2011. In this episode, host Angela Walton-Raji talks about Part Two of Bernice Bennett’s program on Slavery Era research, which will air later this month on National Archives And Beyond. She also talks about Find A Grave and Fraternal Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas. She also covers some genealogy news, a new book, and a resource that covers North Central Florida.
Polish Genealogy Podcast is a brand new, monthly, genealogy podcast that focuses on Polish Genealogy. So far, there have been two episodes. One was for November of 2011, and the newest one is for December of 2011. Genealogists with Polish heritage should check out this brand new podcast.
FGS has an episode that was released on December 17, 2011. This one is called “Dear Santa: What I Want This Year for My Genealogy Society”. Host Thomas MacEntee did a “call-in” show, where genealogy society members could voice their wishes and desires for their own genealogy society.
