GeneaBloggers has an episode that was released on November 11, 2011. This episode is called “Our Veteran Ancestors: Military Records and Genealogy”.

Special guests in this episode includes Ellen Rohr, (from Families for Forgotten Heroes), who explains how she and others are working to reunite unclaimed remains of veterans with their families. Polly FitzGerald Kimmitt, (of Kimmitt Genealogical Research), is another special guest. She talks about how she uses her forensic skills in Army repatriation projects involving remains of veterans.

FGS has an episode that was released on November 12, 2011. This episode is called “Genealogy and the Vital Records Access Crisis”.

In this episode, host Thomas MacEntee is joined by guest Frederick E. Moss, (who is a legal advisor and member of the Records Access and preservation Committee). That group is a joint committee of the Federation of Genealogical Societies, the National Genealogical Society, and the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies. He talks about how access to vital records are being threatened, and what you can do to ensure access for all genealogists.
