Going to see a movie, in an actual movie theater, can be expensive. You might be paying for parking, depending on if the theater has it’s own parking lot of if it lacks one. The price of movie tickets, even during an afternoon matinee, seems to go up every year. If you would like to have something to eat or drink while you watch the movie, well, that’s going to cost you some money as well. Unless, of course, you print out a coupon from the theater, and bring it with you.
For a lot of people, watching a movie means sitting on the couch under a comfy blanket, beverage of choice in hand, and watching the movie on their TV. Other people have no problem watching a movie on their computers, or even on an iPad or smartphone. Movies have become extremely accessible, and there is nothing wrong with watching a movie at home, or while traveling.
But, that being said, it’s just not the same as going into an actual theater, and watching the movie on a great, big screen. No matter how good the audio system at your home happens to be, it won’t be able to compete with the surround sound that a good theater can provide. Watching a movie with your friends is really fun, and it just isn’t the same if you are all hunkered down in front of the television in someone’s living room. No, nothing else can give you quite the same experience as going to the movies can.
Part of the fun of going to the movies is the food! Yes, we all know that there are very few things that you can eat at a movie theater that would be considered healthy, by any stretch of the imagination. I suppose you could drink bottled water, if you wanted to, but somehow, that just feels wrong. Enjoying some popcorn, covered with “butter”, and drinking a sugary, caffeinated soda, enhances the movie-going experience. Drinking water, with your dry, unbuttered, popcorn, just isn’t the same.
Right now, you can get a coupon that will save you some money on the kind of food and drink that you were planning on buying at the movie theater, anyway. Regal Entertainment has it’s own page on Facebook. Visit that page, and click the “like” button. This makes you eligible to print out a coupon that you can bring with you to the theater.
These coupons are good for one particular weekend only, and will expire after that. Exactly what the coupon offers will vary. This week, March 25 through 27, 2011, the coupon will give you one free small soft drink, when you purchase some popcorn. Check back for a new coupon every week.
