It happens to the best of us. Even with beautiful photos and paper surrounding us, it can be hard to get excited about starting a new scrapbook layout. Sometimes we just need something to get ourselves back into the mood to scrapbook.
I decided to come up with some ideas to help us get back into the scrapbooking groove. I would love to hear about anything you do to get yourself back into a scrapbooking mood.
Buy a new magazine. Craft stores are full of new scrapbooking magazines brimming with fresh ideas. You could also venture into the photography or graphic design section. You may just discover a new idea that you just have to try out.
Read an idea book. Pick up an idea book that you have had laying around for a while. Even if you have read it before, you may find something new that you hadn’t notice before.
Look through your albums. Whenever I look though my albums I am reminded of the reason I scrapbook – to preserve our family memories and create a record of my children’s childhoods. This motivate me to keep up the good work!
Look through a friend’s album. You may see a new technique she has used that you want to try out on your next layout.
Clean and organize your scrapbook space. Sometimes my scrapbook space can get a bit out of control. After spending just a little time tidying up, I am ready to get to work since the space looks so inviting. You may just find a lost treasure while cleaning up that you want to use on that next layout.
Sign up for a class. Local scrapbook store usually offer a variety of classes at all levels. You can make new friends and learn new techniques.
Invite friends over to scrapbook. If you have people coming over to scrapbook, that should motivate you to get organized and figure out what your next fun project is going to be.
Browse an online gallery. There are so many beautiful layouts posted online everyday. Take a quick look through a favorite online gallery and this may just spark a new idea.
I hope these ideas will help you gain ideas on how to stimulate some scrapbook creativity!
