Anytime I find an offer for free french fries, it gets my attention. People of all ages love french fries! Most fast food places realize this simple truth, and this could be why they include french fries in their meal deals. Usually, though, the french fries are not given out for free. This Friday, March 4, 2011, you can get free french fries from Chick-fil-A, as they celebrate the national launch of Heinz Dip & Squeeze Ketchup.
The first Chick-fil-A was opened in the early 1960’s, in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, this fast food restaurant has grown. It is now the second largest quick-service chicken restaurant in the United States, and it has more than 1,500 locations in 39 states. Their menu consists largely of items that include chicken, as you would expect from their name. This is the restaurant that has used advertisements that feature cows, who are suggesting that you should eat more chicken. In addition to chicken, you can also get waffle potato fries. No, they are not actually waffles. These are potatoes that are waffle cut, instead of being cut into sticks, the way that typical french fries are.
Heinz has just developed a new kind of packet for their ketchup, which his now available at fast food restaurants nationwide. It is called a “Dip & Squeeze” container. According to their Facebook page, these specially designed packets hold three times as much ketchup as other ketchup packets do.
These new packets are designed to be opened in one of two ways. You can pull the plastic seal off the entire packet so that you can dip your fries into it. Or, you can open it from the other end, instead, and squeeze the ketchup out of the packet and directly onto your food. This is one of those designs that makes me wonder why no one has thought of this before.
Unlike other Chick-fil-A deals, you do not need a coupon in order to get the free fries. Just find the Chick-fil-A that is near you, and visit the restaurant on Friday, March 4, 2011, between the hours of 2:00 in the afternoon and 4:00 in the afternoon. You must tell the fast food worker who takes your order that you are there to try the new Heinz Dip & Squeeze. They will give you one medium order of their Waffle Potato Fries, for free. French fries are just perfect for dipping into ketchup, or for having ketchup squeezed upon them.
