Get Free Ice Cream from Ben & Jerry’s

ice cream cone Almost everyone has a favorite flavor of ice cream. When you visit a store that sells ice cream, that might be the exact flavor you are hoping to get. Other people, who are more adventurous, like to find new flavors of ice cream to try out. The only thing that can make ice cream better is when that ice cream is free. Ben & Jerry’s is giving away free cones on April 12, 2011.

You might not be experiencing the warmest weather where you live, but Spring has, in fact, started. Those that are lucky are experiencing a break from the cold, brutal, winter weather, and are enjoying nice, warm, sunny, Spring days. Now is the time to go outside, and enjoy the lovely day. Visit a park with your family. Take a long, leisurely walk. Go for a bike ride. It might be nice to finish your little adventure at your local ice cream shop.

In the town where I grew up, there was one sign that Spring had finally arrived. It was when the local ice cream store had opened up again for another season. I didn’t go there all the time, but it was nice to know that it had opened up, anyway. It gave me hope that the cold, horrible, winter weather that I despised was a thing of the past.

On Tuesday, April 12, 2011, you should visit your local Ben & Jerry’s, because that day is “Free Cone Day”. This day is a celebration of the thirty three years that Ben & Jerry’s has been in business. There is a link on their website that can help you locate the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop that is closest to where you live.

It is, of course, perfectly acceptable to go in and get a free cone of your very favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. If you would like to experience something different, there are a few brand new flavors that they would like to point out.

There is one called “Late Night Snack”, which was inspired by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. It has vanilla bean ice cream, a salty caramel swirl, and fudge covered potato chip clusters. Or, try the “Bonnaroo Buzz”. This flavor has light coffee & Malt ice creams, with whiskey caramel swirls, and English toffee pieces. The “Bonnaroo Buzz” was inspired by the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. You can probably guess which television show inspired the flavor called “Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream”. This has vanilla ice cream, a caramel swirl, and fudge covered waffle cone pieces. There is also the amusingly named “Clusterfluff”, which is peanut butter ice cream with caramel cluster pieces, and peanut butter and marshmallow swirls.
