The newest concept in getting fit is with video games and it appears to be a success. The Nintendo company has managed to find a way to play games, have fun and get people up and moving all at the same time. Challenging people to many activities has gotten people to play the games often in order to perfect their score. After all, who doesn’t want to be the best? This boils down to more movement and less sitting. Hey, however you have to get people motivated, right?

In this new form of exercise, video exercise, you control the movements of the characters on the television screen by standing on a balance board and moving about in the right direction. These games cover yoga, balancing games, aerobics and games of sports, such as bowling and snow boarding, including several more types of games.

When you first boot up this game you need to create a character putting in all the information about yourself, such as height and age. Testing comes after this to come up with a general baseline status for you. Your body mass index is measured along with your “game age”. You can set “goals” for yourself to achieve regarding weight loss.

You and your whole family will have fun playing soccer, hula hooping and more. The guys in the family will want to test their expertise doing push ups. The ladies can check their balance as they practice yoga positions.

This game will track your progress, as well as several family member’s progress. This game is great for getting the whole family involved. It will get them up and moving. If you do not have kids, you will enjoy this just the same. It is something that even if you are all alone you can still have fun with it. Kudos to Nintendo for such an ingenious idea!
