Getting Psyched Up For Extra Challenges

I’ve written about what it is like when things are good and easy in our home businesses, but sometimes we see bumpy roads up ahead. Of course, there are definitely those times when we get hit with challenges we didn’t even see coming, but in the instances where we have some warning, we can get ourselves all “psyched up” for the upcoming changes.

Being able to prepare for an increase in work load, or major changes, is really a blessing. Instead of clenching our teeth and going kicking and screaming—we have the opportunity to prepare and get ourselves mentally and physically ready for what is coming. We can organize our households and lives, make arrangements for extra childcare or time to spend with our kids, and save money if we think there will be a gap in our revenue stream. Having the gift of time to plan lets us get our minds really “psyched” for the changes.

So, what does it take to get you psyched? Well, you know yourself best and know if you need extra motivation in terms of affirmations, exercise, mentoring, etc. You might need to gradually change your schedule so you can get used to any time requirement changes. If your family will be affected by changes to your work and/or business life, you will need to take some time to prepare them as well. It may take a family meeting to outline the changes to come and make sure everyone is aware as to how their lives will be affected by changes in your business.

All in all, having the opportunity to get “psyched up” for changes to your home business allows you more control and the ability to adjust to meet challenges head on. Change is inevitable and even some of the most challenging times can bring great rewards. Plus, the more we learn to manage and rise to these challenges, the more successful our businesses will be.
