Gift Certificates for Fitness

Can you buy a gift certificate that promises fitness for a loved one or friend? Sure you can and while gift certificates are not always the first choice for some of us when it comes to shopping – don’t discount them as a great idea. For example:

  • A gift certificate to a day spa is a great way to encourage a massage and personal pampering, these items are good for men and women alike and it’s a great way to encourage mental and emotional fitness along with physical fitness
  • A gift certificate for personal training sessions helps to motivate, but also lets your loved one pick out the personal trainer they want to work with and this can be important because the mingling of personalities can be very conducive to success
  • A gift certificate for three months of membership at a fitness club can let your friend or family member experience the club atmosphere and equipment without a long term commitment for a year and they may be more likely to use it because it was a gift
  • A gift certificate to a fitness store can let them pick out the fitness items they want or apply the certificate to a more expensive, but desired piece of equipment. I’ve known one family that each gave a $50 gift certificate to someone who wanted their own treadmill and with so many family members kicking in – they were able to get what they wanted
  • A gift certificate to a dance studio can be a great idea for the couple who’s always wanted to take ballroom dancing lessons can give them two or three weeks worth of lessons to explore and check out – many studios offer a first complimentary lesson so that may even give a couple a month’s long opportunity

These are just a few ideas for giving gift certificates as a fitness present for a friend or family member. The great thing is – they don’t require a large investment of capital, but they might give someone you love a gift that keeps on giving – the gift of good health and your investment in it.

What other gift certificates might you consider giving as a gift at Christmas?
